Teachers required to report
child abuse and neglect

Apr/May 2008 - Montana law requires teachers and others who work with children to report suspected child abuse and neglect.

If you believe one of your students has been abused or neglected, call the state Child and Family Services Division’s 24-hour Child Abuse Hotline: 866.820.5437.

Or you can call the division’s general information number, 444.5900, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., and the receptionist will direct your call to the appropriate person.
