Adopted, MEA-MFT Representative Assembly, March 29, 2008
NBI #1 - MEA-MFT endorses the concept of establishing
a national single-payer health care plan as exemplified by
HR 676 for all U.S. legal residents and shall urge the Montana
AFL-CIO to likewise endorse the concept of HR 676 at the Montana
AFL-CIO Convention, June 12-14, 2008, Great Falls.
NBI #2 - MEA-MFT supports voter approval of LR-118,
the six-mill levy, to help fund the Montana University System.
NBI #3 - MEA-MFT opposes CI-99 that would cap residential
property taxes at an annual increase of no more than 1.5%.
NBI #4 - MEA-MFT opposes the Montana Open and Clean
Government Act.
NBI #5 - MEA-MFT shall schedule its annual representative
assembly to meet east of Helena at least every three years.
NBI # 6 - Following committee weekend, MEA-MFT staff
liaisons shall compile and report the actions of each committee.
MEA-MFT shall provide a hard copy of each report to each local
president and post all reports on www.mea-mft.org.
NBI # 8 - MEA-MFT shall create awards recognizing
a public and/or health care employee of the year and higher
education faculty professor of the year.
NBI #9 - MEA-MFT supports adequately funding the market-based
Pay Plan 020 to enable state employees to move through market
to maximum pay.
